Happier Times

Last night, Grace smiled and giggled for her Daddy, and she even played with her toys for a few minutes. She is, for the most part, still very tired and often fussy, but these moments where we are seeing the old Grace again are so encouraging! She has also been sleeping in the crib more frequently and for longer stretches, which is also a good sign that things are moving in the right direction. Now, if we could just get all the hospital noises and interruptions to go away...it's amazing that anyone gets well in a hospital.

Not too much to report today. Her weight continues to increase a tiny bit each time she is weighed. Yay! She did run a fever last night, and we are praying that it will go away, so they won't have to start looking for the cause of it.

Tomorrow, she will get to eat again. Pray, pray, pray that all goes well! Pray that this last day of TPN only will give her stomach all the healing it needs to be ready for food again tomorrow. And, pray that she will be willing to drink formula and use a sippy cup. She has been weaned in this whole process and has never been willing to drink from a bottle, so this is an extra hurdle she has to get over. Hopefully, we will be on the road home in this next few days!

  1. I'm praying for Grace to tolerate some yum yums tomorrow. Her grandmother is my son's Sunday School teacher! I just keep praying for Grace to get to eat and get to go home!
